The Thin Place

There are few places like this

because most have disappeared

they are no longer venerated

they are no longer feared

as for a description

where do I begin?

here the barrier, so vast,

fades and  tapers thin

no-thing touches being

and eternity unfolds

the unmovable storms ahead

freed from what it holds

the angels wear our faces

while we sing their songs

and the melody occupies

where the heart belongs

this is no deception

for no door of perception

can bar this heavenly reception

when the angels wear our faces

in this most feared of places
